| Description | The series contains items that were mainly within ring binders or document wallets, some with titles but in no order within Herbert's office. The files have been arranged alphabetically for ease, new accruals will be added after JH/2/45, and where possibly also be in alphabetical order.
The files contain a variety of information on issues such as the redevelopment of the South Bank of London at the time of planning the National Theatre [including letters form Laurence Olivier] to information on collaborators. There are also sections on the Royal Court Theatre, English Stage Company and the George Devine Award.
