Typed statement by Herbert titled 'Jocelyn Herbert: Stage and Film Designer' in answer to question of where the primary inspiration and creative urge comes from when designing for the theatre. Second copy of Herbert's letter to Guardian newspaper dated 21 March 1994 on subject of Samuel Beckett's Footfalls; Typed text by Herbert to Lindsay Anderson: an appreciation; Two letters from 'Tim' at 33 Lansdowne Gardens, dated 20 April 1994 and 22 February 1993, one mentions RDI [Royal Designers for Industry]; Letter from Greville Poke dated 12 April 1994 in relation to 'The Harriet Settlement'.
Also includes Cards and postcards. 1 from 'Jenny', either Jenny West or Jenny Carey (1.10.1992). They are from: Alan Bennett, Gavin Bryars (1994), 'John' possibly John Dexter. One from 'Helen', Liz, 'Nat? and Douglas', Lawrence Evans, David Reppa, Julian Treveleyan and Mary Fedden, 'Ruth', Sara Kestelman, 'Willow', John, Tina Pirali, Sue, Sid, Lawrence Evans, Paola Dionisotti, Joan, David James, Jenny Carey and a different 'John'. There are three cards from 'David', JH and two from 'David' possibly David Hare and two from Tony Harrison. Six of the cards have names that are hard to identify or do not possess a signed name.
Four postcards from Gavin Lambert (mentioning the book 'Mainly about Lindsay Anderson') and one postcard from Maggie Smith.
Also includes an invitation to Jocelyn's Birthday party and another document that perhaps was created for her birthday.
