| Description | The Fair was produced by the London Theatre Studio and was the first production Herbert worked on as a student. The file contains costume designs in bright colours for performers at the fair for example, a man walking on stilts. Some performers are drawn more than once, showing different options for their costume. The performers names are written on each design and on many of the drawings are additional notes for example, on colour and fabric. The drawings have a jaunty quality to them. A number also employ techniques that Herbert would continue to use in her professional career for example, drawing 0014 shows both the recto and verso of the design and drawing 0013 has a fabric swatch attached.
