DescriptionBy William Shakespeare, Director William 'Bill' Gaskill, premiere 24 May 1961, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre [Stratford-upon-Avon]. The file contains costume and set designs. The costumes are in a jewel coloured palette offset with black and greys and on other designs autumnal hues and many are painted so as to make the 'fabrics' appear textured by adding washes/sponging etc for example, 2733. Most are annotated by character name and some have additional note for example, 2742 has a note about armour and 2270 has notes on the verso. Some of the designs also show props for example, 2714 a sword. The sets are mainly depicted in a pen and wash format some with actors placed on the stage, where the actors are stood are lines of bright paint possibly depicted lighting for example, 2805 and many are annotated with the location.
