TitleA Woman Killed With Kindness
LevelFile
Date1971
DescriptionBy Thomas Heywood, Director John Dexter. Premiere, The National Theatre at the Old Vic, 7 Apr 1971. The file contains costume and set designs, the play was first acted in 1603 and the designs reflect this period. The costumes are in a autumnal palette or red tones and are annotated by character name and a few by scene number. Some have characters holding props for example, 0908 bagpipes. In some the verso of a garment is shown for example, 0942. A number of the set drawings are drawn as if from the stalls and so the entire stage is visible and have the characters placed on set, thus one can see how the layout may have worked for example, 0970. In some for example, 0974-5, a single shocking red is used. Set piece designs are also included for example, 0993 a playing card. The stage had a central wooden platform see, 0979, as would have been common in 1603.
