The costumes are Amazonian Indian for the savages but varied for other people, from ripped shorts and shirt [4842] to black tie [4843] in style and mainly annotated by character name. The colours change accordingly from earthy reds to greys, blues, white and black. Some have alternative colour ways, 4849 and 4850 show the same character/suit in two colours. There are also a number of character sketches for example, 4862, group pictures for example, 4195 and drawings showing the garments recto and verso for example, 4914. The set designs include a number of set pieces: 4837 a totem pole; 4865 is a design plan for an Indian flute; 4905 is a made-up fabric water pouch [?]; 4916 a and construction plan for a freezer; 4917 construction plan for a lamp; 4918 construction plan for bookshelves. 4866-74 storyboards the play. The colours are earthy and naturalistic for the savages or brights on dark backdrops for other sets [or in pencil]. A number of the designs are patterns for the savage's village and 4907 is painted fabric coloured with one such motif.
