DescriptionBy Tony Harrison, Director Tony Harrison [released 1998-9]. The file contains costume and set drawings. The costumes vary in style from workmen's clothes to swathes of chiffon like fabric draped onto the body [see 1765 and 1769 respectively], although a palette of cool colours such as ice blue is used in many designs [except where workmen's clothes demand other shades such as yellow]. Other garments are in standard 1990s styles for example, 1776 checked shirt and skirt, and these vary in colours used. Some of the costumes re-work Grecian mythological characters for example, 1795-1812 Hermes. The main set piece was a large gold figure, the dimensions of which are shown in 5353-5 and 1762-4 shows the figure [1790 shows the figure with a beard, it did not have this in the final designs]. The figure is transported in the film and how this was achieved in shown in 1818 and with scales in 1821. Other statues were also used for example, 1773 in copper. There are also designs for set pieces and motifs for example, 1785 no fire sign. Scaffolding was also used and plans for it are included, see 1822-4; 1827-9. 1830-60 are storyboards.
