DescriptionAs part of this year's Shell Connections Festival, we present three playreadings taken from the Federal Theater project, which took place in America in the 1930s and in many ways pre-empted the aims of Shell Connections. The Project was one of five arts-related projects established during the first term of Franklin D Roosevelt presidency in 1935 under the Works Progress Administration. The writers included a young Tennessee Williams and Eugene O'Neill.
The readings combine young Connections actors alongside members of the National Theatre company.
