| Description | The file contains Bryars' proposal for an opera of Dr Ox's Experiment by Jules Verne, produced in collaboration with Blake Morrison [librettist], Jun 1990. Both the final and draft versions are present together with a letter to Herbert asking for comments, 29 Jan 1991, as she was to design it. There is also a photocopy of Verne's original. The opera did go ahead and opened with English National Opera, London, 15 Jun 1998; Herbert did not design the production. |
