Description | As part of this year's Shell Connections Festival, we present three playreadings taken from the Federal Theater project, which took place in America in the 1930s and in many ways pre-empted the aims of Shell Connections. The Project was one of five arts-related projects established during the first term of Franklin D Roosevelt presidency in 1935 under the Works Progress Administration. The writers included a young Tennessee Williams and Eugene O'Neill. The readings combine young Connections actors alongside members of the National Theatre company.
