DescriptionPlan entitled 'National Theatre, site plan & elevation, Scheme B', by Brian O'Rorke. Shows the South Bank area between Hungerford Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, with the proposed theatre next to the Royal Festival Hall.
Two different plans are included within the same sheet, respectively entitled 'Plan at +12.00 road level' and 'Plan at 28.00 terrace level'. Also includes 'Section A-A', showing section of the theatre with the river and Belvedere Road at either side, and 'Elevation to river', showing elevation of the theatre and the Royal Festival Hall facing the river.
A small sheet of transparent paper with a plan of the Shakespeare Theatre is superimposed on the left side of the plan. This overlaps with the plan of the proposed National Theatre and highlights the differences in the ground plan of the two theatres.
