DescriptionThe file contains 'client' correspondence and enclosures, including meeting minutes and progress reports, largely sent between members of Theatre Projects Consultants Ltd and the National Theatre, and between Theatre Projects Consultants Ltd and the South Bank Theatre Board. Topics covered include the Theatre's concerns about the Olivier being in a finished state for the first performance; noise at rehearsals; progress towards completion for various parts of the equipment installation; standby systems; the opening of the Olivier; temperature measurements; negotiating for site access for contractors with the National Theatre; concerns about equipment not working as intended and the need for modifications, particularly in the Lyttelton; extra-contractual payments and clearing payments with the relevant public bodies; pressure on sub-contractors to correct defects and complete on time; rates of pay; problems with Evershed Power Optics Ltd contract; meetings of the Progress Sub-Committee and Council meetings; indemnity insurance; and a disagreement with Peter Hall about the work ethic of the consultants and contractors.
