Description | Apartheid is the text of every lesson in every schoolroom of South Africa. A High School student, Tembeka Ngeleza, was involved in the school's boycott (against Bantu education) and was detained in 1976. Derrick Swartz was also a student during the '76 boycott. He became General Secretary of the Eastern Cape UDF. Both left South Africa to escape oppression. Both were at Port Elizabeth High Schools - Tembeka as a student, Derrick as a teacher. |
