| Description | Jude Kelly talks about her investigation into Fear of the Artist the nature of fear in terms of the relationships between artists, institutions, funders, and society. After 14 years as the award-winning Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Jude realised she needed a greater freedom of creative expression, outside the safety net of a major institution. Talking to other artists, she discovered that many felt disengaged from the structures in place to support them and founded Metal, an ideas space for artists and thinkers.
