The Travelex £10 Season opens with 'Henry IV Parts 1 and 2,' bringing Michael Gambon back to the National as Falstaff, and continues with writer/director David Farr's 'The UN Inspector,' a modern take on Gogol's satire. The final play in the Travelex Season will be a new play by David Edgar set in contemporary Britain, 'Playing with Fire.' In the Cottesloe there will be another season of new plays. Mike Leigh returns to the theatre after 12 years, following the international success of his film 'Vera Drake.' There will be co-productions with Kneehigh Theatre, the Royal Exchange and DV8. Improbable make their main-stage NT debut with Jim Broadbent in 'Theatre of Blood.' Two classic plays by Brian Friel and Ibsen's Ghosts are revived, and Katie Mitchell revives Martin Crimp's 'Attempts on her Life.' A roster of award-winning new plays are touring from the NT this year: 'The History Boys' follows 'The Pillowman' and 'Elmina's Kitchen.'
